5 Starter Plug Berckman's Gold Arborvitae Platycladus orientalis Evergreen

Berckman's Gold Arborvitae is a compact, golden-yellow evergreen shrub valued for its bright, upright foliage that holds color through the year. Its dense, conical habit and moderate growth make it a versatile choice for landscaping, providing structure and color contrast in beds, borders, and mixed plantings.

This cultivar works well as a low hedge, accent plant, or container specimen, and its feathery texture blends smoothly with green-toned shrubs and perennials. It responds well to occasional shaping and prefers well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, where its color develops most intensely.
