5 Seeds Osage Orange Tree Maclura pomifera Hardy Hedge Tree Seeds

Osage Orange is a rugged, adaptable deciduous tree grown for its dense, thorny growth habit, glossy green foliage, and distinctive large, bumpy, lime-green fruit. It has long been valued as a tough hedge or windbreak tree and makes a striking, low-maintenance specimen for large landscapes and wildlife-friendly plantings.

The wood of Osage Orange is exceptionally hard and rot-resistant, historically used for fence posts and tool handles, while the tree itself works well as a natural barrier, windbreak, or shade tree on spacious properties. Its dense branching supports nesting birds and wildlife cover. The unusual inedible fruit adds late-season visual interest. Plant in full sun for best growth.
