5 Seeds Magnolia tripetala Umbrella Magnolia Tree Ornamental Shade

Magnolia tripetala, commonly known as Umbrella Magnolia, is a striking deciduous tree prized for its large, cascading clusters of creamy white flowers in late spring and its oversized, tropical-looking leaves that form a dramatic umbrella-like canopy. This specimen plant adds a bold, architectural presence to woodland gardens, shaded borders, or as a unique focal point in a landscape, and its open branching structure provides gentle filtered shade beneath.
This tree is ideal for ornamental use, thriving in moist, well-drained soil and offering seasonal interest with its fragrant blooms and colorful cone-like fruits that attract birds. It grows best in partial shade to full sun, and its moderate growth rate makes it a manageable choice for medium to large garden spaces. Plant it where its expansive foliage can be admired, and allow it to naturalize in a sheltered spot for best results.
