5 Seeds Celastrus scandens American Bittersweet Vine

Celastrus scandens, commonly known as American Bittersweet, is a vigorous deciduous climbing vine native to North America. It is prized for its attractive foliage and striking late-season display, when bright orange-yellow seed capsules split open to reveal vivid scarlet berries that persist into winter.
This vine is most often grown along fences, trellises, arbors, and walls, where it provides excellent seasonal interest and supports birds and other wildlife. It prefers a sunny to partly shaded position with room to climb. For fruit production, plant both male and female vines nearby, as this species is typically dioecious.
