5 Seeds Butterfly Ginger Hedychium ellipticum Tropical Flowering Plant

Butterfly Ginger is a tropical rhizomatous perennial admired for its intensely fragrant flowers that resemble white butterflies with a warm, spiced perfume. The arching stems and glossy green foliage add a lush, exotic look to borders, patio containers, and greenhouse collections, with blooms that carry the garden gracefully into late summer and autumn.

Grown primarily as an ornamental for fragrance and cut flowers, Hedychium ellipticum performs best in a sheltered spot with consistent moisture and warmth, where it clumps steadily into a bold architectural specimen. It pairs beautifully with cannas and elephant ears in mixed tropical borders, and the blooms are long lasting in arrangements.
