5 Plant Plug Black Mission Fig Tree Ficus Carica Fruit Tree

Black Mission fig is a classic variety known for producing sweet, rich-flavored figs on a vigorous, upright tree. This starter plug arrives as a young rooted plant ready to establish in a container or garden setting, making it an accessible option for growers who want to begin with a manageable size before the tree matures. Its attractive lobed foliage and branching habit give it both ornamental and edible value in a sunny landscape.

Black Mission fig performs well in warm climates and can be grown in large containers in cooler regions where it can be moved indoors during cold spells. The fruit is prized for fresh eating as well as for drying, baking, jams, and preserves, and it develops a deep purple-black skin with reddish interior when ripe. Regular watering and a sunny, sheltered position support steady growth and reliable fruiting over the season. With patience and proper care, the plant develops into a productive small tree that can serve as a long-term edible landscape feature.
