100 Seeds Pale Dock Rumex altissimus

Pale Dock is a robust perennial native to North American wetlands and low prairies, valued for its tall, architectural seed stalks and broad, lance-shaped leaves. Its vigorous, upright habit makes it a striking background plant in rain gardens, meadow plantings, and naturalized areas where it adds structure and vertical interest through the growing season. This species germinates readily from seed and develops a deep taproot, forming a durable, long-lived clump that tolerates a range of moisture conditions once established.
Pale Dock suits wet meadow and pollinator plantings, where its greenish flower spikes mature into reddish-brown seeds that persist into autumn. Its leaves and stalks offer ornamental texture and contrast alongside grasses and flowering perennials. Seeds can be sown directly in moist, open ground in fall or cold-stratified before spring sowing, making it a practical choice for habitat restoration and low-maintenance landscapes.
