10 Seeds Fire on the Mountain Euphorbia cyathophora

Fire on the Mountain is a striking annual Euphorbia known for its vivid red-orange color at the base of the upper leaves, creating a glowing effect that stands out in mixed borders and wildflower plantings. It grows quickly from seed into a bushy, upright plant with bright green foliage and small, understated flowers that give way to the colorful bracts. This hardy, drought-tolerant species is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a bold, warm-toned accent that self-sows readily. Use it in pollinator-friendly beds, native-style landscapes, or as a filler in containers and xeriscapes. It performs best in full sun with well-drained, sandy, or gravelly soil, thriving in hot, dry sites where little else flourishes. Growth is fast in warm conditions, and plants generally reach flowering size within a few weeks, continuing their display until frost.
