1 Chinkapin Oak Tree 12" Quercus muehlenbergii Bare Root

The Chinkapin Oak is a stately native shade tree admired for its distinctive coarsely toothed foliage and its adaptability to a wide range of growing conditions. This bare root tree arrives dormant and ready to establish, making it an excellent choice for homeowners and native plant enthusiasts seeking a long-lived, character-rich addition to the landscape. Its sweet edible acorns are a favorite among wildlife, and the tree's broad, rounded canopy provides generous shade as it matures.

Ideal as a specimen shade tree, a native planting, or a long-term landscape investment, the Chinkapin Oak tolerates alkaline and rocky soils better than many oaks. It grows at a moderate rate and develops strong branching and deep roots over time. The foliage turns yellow to bronze in autumn, adding seasonal interest. Plant in a sunny, well-drained location where it has room to reach its full majestic size.
