Diglyphus isaea
Controls:
Diglyphus isaea is a small, black, non-stinging wasp that searches out leaf miners on which to lay its egg. The wasp kills the leaf miner as it lays its egg, and the emerging larvae use the dead miner as food. The adult parasite exits the tunnel sometime later and will then go on to lay 200 – 300 eggs during its nearly month-long life.
Application Rate Recommendations for Diglyphus isaea:
- Preventative: 500 adults per 5,000-20,000 square feet depending on pest levels.
- Moderate Infestation: 500 adults per 2,500-5,000 square feet.
- Heavy Infestation: 500 adults per 1,000-2,500 square feet.
How-To UseDiglyphus isaea For Best Results:
- Release as soon as possible after the leaf miner infection increases.
