Dicyphus hesperus is a predatory mirid bug that is commercially positioned as a whitefly product but is a generalist predator that feeds on moth eggs (before it becomes a looper), Two Spotted Spider Mites (TSSM), and Thrips once the population has been established. It can last in the crop for a long time by feeding on pollen and other prey thanks to its polyphagous nature.
Application Rate Recommendations for Dicyphus hesperus:
- Preventative: 1-2 per square foot.
- Moderate Infestation: 2-4 per square foot.
- Heavy Infestation: 4-6 per square foot.
How-To Use Aphidius Dicyphus hesperus For Best Results:
- Store at 50-59 °F (10-15 °C)
- Release in the early morning or late evening.
- The container should be opened, and the bugs should be gently shaken onto foliage close to whitefly infestations. The container should then be placed upright among plants to release the remaining bugs
