500 American Bugleweed Seeds Lycopus americanus Native Wetland Wildflower

American Bugleweed (Lycopus americanus) is a native wetland wildflower that thrives in moist to wet soils along streambanks, pond edges, and marshy meadows. Its upright, square-stemmed habit and whorls of small white flowers along the upper stems create a subtle, naturalized look, while the finely toothed green foliage adds fine texture to damp garden borders and rain garden plantings. A dependable herbaceous perennial, it returns each season from hardy roots and works well where consistently moist ground supports a wide range of native and pollinator-friendly plants.
In the landscape, American Bugleweed is well suited to rain gardens, bioswales, naturalized wet meadows, and the fringes of ponds and streams. Its small clustered flowers attract bees and other pollinators, and the seed heads offer seasonal interest into late summer and fall. Plant in consistently moist to wet, organically rich soil in full sun to partial shade, and let it naturalize in a spot that stays damp.
