5 Starter Plug Blue Cone Arborvitae Platycladus orientalis

Blue Cone Arborvitae is a compact, upright evergreen selection of Platycladus orientalis valued for its dense conical form and fine blue-green foliage that holds color through the year. This starter plug arrives ready to establish, making it a practical choice for gardeners building hedges, borders, foundation plantings, or container displays with a tidy, structured silhouette.

Grown for its ornamental value, Blue Cone Arborvitae works well as a low-maintenance accent, a spaced hedge row, or a specimen in mixed beds and patio containers. It grows at a moderate rate into a narrow cone and responds well to light shaping if a tighter form is desired. Plant the plug into well-draining soil at the same depth it was growing, water consistently while establishing, and site it where its blue-green color can be appreciated.
