5 Seeds Wavy Leaved Soap Lily Chlorogalum pomeridianum Native Bulb Plant

Chlorogalum pomeridianum, commonly called soap lily or wavy-leaved soap plant, is a California native bulb species known for its rosette of undulating, wavy-edged green leaves and tall, airy stems of small white flowers that open in the late afternoon and evening. It brings a distinctive architectural and wildflower character to native plant gardens and informal landscapes.
Grown as an ornamental for its sculptural foliage and delicate evening blooms, this bulb suits meadows, dry borders, and native plantings where it can naturalize over time. The fibrous bulb coating has traditionally been used as a gentle soap substitute, giving the plant its common name. It prefers well-drained soils and tolerates summer dormancy once established.
