5 Seeds Toona ciliata Red Cedar Tree

Toona ciliata, commonly known as the Red Cedar or Australian Red Cedar, is a fast-growing, deciduous tree prized for its attractive, soft green foliage and its historical value as a magnificent ornamental. This majestic species develops a straight trunk and a spreading canopy, making it a striking focal point for large gardens, parks, or farm shelterbelts, where it offers graceful dappled shade in the warmer months.
For best results, sow these seeds in a well-draining seed-raising mix, keeping them consistently moist and warm for reliable germination. This tree enjoys a sunny position with rich, deep soil to support its vigorous root system and rapid vertical growth, which can reach several meters a year under ideal conditions. As it matures, its bark becomes fissured and its leaves take on a lovely autumn tint before falling, adding seasonal interest to your landscape.
