5 Seeds Picea mariana Black Spruce Evergreen Conifer Bonsai Tree

Black Spruce is a cold-hardy evergreen conifer known for its narrow, conical form and short, dense needles in blue-green tones. It is a slow-growing tree that adapts well to cooler climates and offers year-round structure, making it a fine choice for landscape plantings, windbreaks, and container growing.

Black Spruce provides outstanding evergreen texture and color for mixed borders, specimen planting, and bonsai culture, where its compact habit and tidy growth can be carefully shaped. It thrives in moist, well-drained acidic soils and appreciates consistent moisture, especially while establishing, with a naturally narrow crown and steady vertical growth over time.
