Parkia roxburghii, commonly known as the Tree Bean, is a striking tropical tree grown for its ornamental appeal and distinctive, elongated pods that hang gracefully from the branches. This medium to large-sized tree offers feathery foliage and a spreading canopy, making it a beautiful focal point for spacious gardens, parks, or tropical landscapes. As a unique addition, it also attracts attention for its unusual bean-like pods.

For best results, grow this tree in a warm, frost-free environment where it can receive ample sunlight and room to thrive. While primarily valued for its visual interest and shade, the young pods have culinary uses in some regions and can be prepared in traditional dishes. The tree establishes best when given consistent moisture and rich, well-draining soil. Careful seed treatment, such as scarification, improves germination success, making it a rewarding project for gardeners interested in cultivating rare tropical species.
