5 Seeds Paliurus spina-christi Christ's Thorn Decorative Shrub

Paliurus spina-christi, commonly known as Christ's Thorn or Jerusalem Thorn, offers unique, zigzag branches and striking, circular, winged fruits that resemble miniature paper lanterns. This deciduous shrub or small tree brings distinctive texture and visual interest to sunny garden borders, rock gardens, or as a natural hedging specimen. Its small, glossy green leaves provide a lovely backdrop for the ornamental, corky seed pods that persist through the season.

This plant is valued for its structural beauty and adaptability, making it a fascinating choice for gardeners seeking something out of the ordinary. It thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, developing an attractive, sculptural form over time. The unusual fruits are excellent for dried arrangements and add a unique touch to autumn gardens, while the dense branching habit can create an effective, low-maintenance screen or barrier when planted in a row.
