5 Seeds Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' Black Mondo Grass Ornamental Perennial Ground Cover

These 5 seeds of Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' produce striking, grass-like foliage in a deep, dramatic black-purple shade that adds unique contrast to any garden bed, border, or container. This slow-growing ornamental perennial forms tidy clumps that spread gently over time, making it an excellent choice for edging, mass plantings, or as a bold accent among lighter-leaved plants.
This plant is primarily used for ornamental purposes, thriving in partial to full shade where its dark color stands out beautifully against green or silver foliage. It is also suitable for rock gardens, woodland settings, or as a low-maintenance ground cover under trees. Once established, it tolerates a range of conditions but prefers well-draining soil and consistent moisture. Perfect for adding year-round interest with its evergreen leaves and subtle summer blooms followed by dark berries.
