5 Seeds Dioscorea pentaphylla Fiveleaf Yam Vine Tropical Climbing Tuber

Dioscorea pentaphylla, commonly known as fiveleaf yam, is a vigorous tropical climbing vine grown from seed for its twining ornamental habit and its edible aerial tubers. It is a warm-climate species valued by gardeners for its attractive palmate foliage and its ability to rapidly cover trellises, pergolas, and fences with lush green growth. Each seed offers an opportunity to grow a unique, fast-developing vine suited to tropical and subtropical gardens.

This vine performs well as an ornamental screen or accent on sturdy supports and produces small aerial bulbils along the stems as it matures. Its underground tubers have traditional culinary uses in regions where the species is established, and the twining stems make an interesting addition to tropical plant collections. Provide a strong structure for climbing and plenty of warmth for best growth.
