5 Seeds Allium schuberti Persian Onion Ornamental Allium Flower

Allium schuberti, commonly known as Persian onion, is a striking ornamental allium prized for its loose, airy umbels of star-shaped flowers that appear in late spring to early summer. This species brings a delicate, naturalistic texture to borders and meadow-style plantings, standing out among more compact alliums with its relaxed, open flower heads.

Grown primarily for ornamental display, Allium schuberti pairs well with ornamental grasses and other late-season bloomers. Its dried flower heads also hold structure in the garden well into summer, making it a favorite for cut and dried arrangements. It performs best in well-drained soil and full sun, and it returns reliably where conditions suit it.
