Allegheny Blackberry is a native North American fruiting shrub that produces abundant crops of sweet, juicy blackberries on vigorous, upright canes. It is a valued wild species for home gardens, edible landscapes, and wildlife plantings, offering both spring blossoms and summer fruit.

The berries are excellent for fresh eating, pies, jams, jellies, and preserves. The canes are biennial, growing vegetatively the first year and fruiting the second, and plants spread gradually by tip rooting to form natural thickets. Grow it in a sunny border, hedgerow, or pollinator-friendly garden where its white flowers and later fruit are welcomed.
