5 Bare Root French Pussy Willow Plants Salix caprea 12 Inch Tall Live Starter Plants

French Pussy Willow is a deciduous shrub or small tree known for its display of soft, silvery catkins that emerge in late winter and early spring. These bare root plants arrive at approximately 12 inches tall and establish readily when planted in suitable conditions, making them a rewarding choice for gardeners seeking an early-season ornamental with distinctive texture and seasonal interest.
The fuzzy catkins are prized for their ornamental value and are frequently used in cut floral arrangements, either fresh or dried. This willow performs well in moist, well-drained soils and is often planted near ponds, streams, or rain gardens, though it adapts to average garden conditions with consistent moisture. Its upright habit and early bloom make it a useful accent in mixed borders and wildlife-friendly landscapes.
