5 Bare Root Dutchman's Breeches Dicentra cucullaria Woodland Wildflower

Dutchman's Breeches is a woodland perennial known for its distinctive white and yellow pantaloon-shaped blooms that dangle in neat rows along arching stems in early spring. This bare root offering brings the charm of a native woodland garden to shaded borders and naturalized areas.

Ideal for shaded beds, woodland gardens, and naturalizing beneath deciduous trees, Dutchman's Breeches emerges in early spring, blooms, then goes dormant by midsummer as foliage yellows. Plant the bare roots in humus-rich, well-drained soil and allow them to settle in before the growing season. Combine with other spring ephemerals for a layered seasonal display.
