30 Seeds Picta Tickseed Coreopsis nuecensis Native Wildflower

Picta Tickseed (Coreopsis nuecensis) is a charming native annual wildflower prized for its bright golden-yellow blooms, each petal tipped with a distinctive reddish-brown ring at the base. This Texas-native species brings cheerful color to meadows, pollinator gardens, and naturalized landscapes, blooming over a long season and thriving in hot, sunny conditions where it self-sows readily for returns year after year.

Use Picta Tickseed in wildflower mixes, border edges, cottage gardens, and prairie plantings. Its nectar-rich flowers draw bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects through the warm months, and the blooms hold up well as fresh cut flowers. The plants tolerate poor, sandy, or rocky soils and perform best when allowed to naturalize freely. For continued color, allow spent flowers to mature and drop seed.
