30 Seeds Illinois Rose Rosa setigera Native Climbing Rose Prairie Shrub

Illinois Rose (Rosa setigera) is a native climbing rose that brings graceful, arching growth and seasonal charm to naturalized gardens, prairie plantings, and woodland edges. Its clusters of single pink flowers appear in early summer, followed by small red hips that add winter interest, while the semi-evergreen foliage turns shades of bronze and purple in autumn.
This vigorous rose works well trained along fences, trellises, and arbors, or allowed to sprawl as a loose hedge or barrier planting. It tolerates a range of soils and is a useful choice for pollinator-friendly and low-maintenance landscapes. The flowers offer nectar for bees and other beneficial insects, and the hips provide food for birds through the colder months.
