30 Seeds Crownvetch Coronilla varia Ground Cover Legume

Crownvetch is a hardy herbaceous perennial legume widely grown as a low-maintenance ground cover for slopes, banks, and rough terrain. It forms dense mats of fern-like green foliage topped with clusters of small pink and white pea-like flowers through the summer months, offering dependable cover where little else will establish.

Well suited to erosion-prone banks, roadside plantings, and naturalized areas, crownvetch spreads by creeping rhizomes to knit together loose soil. Its clover-like blooms attract bees and other pollinators, and the plant works as a nitrogen-fixing green manure in mixed plantings. Seed is broadcast for meadow and reclamation use, and once established the stand is long-lived and requires little attention.
