3 Platycladus orientalis Starter Plug Berckman's Gold Arborvitae Evergreen Landscape Plant

Platycladus orientalis 'Berckman's Gold' is a compact, upright evergreen shrub grown for its striking golden-yellow foliage that brightens borders, foundations, and mixed shrub plantings. This oriental arborvitae selection keeps a dense, conical to columnar form and works well as a low-maintenance accent, specimen, or small hedge.

Berckman's Gold offers year-round structure with foliage that holds its warm golden tones best in full sun, making it a useful contrast plant against green conifers and shrubs. It suits rock gardens, entryway plantings, perennial borders, and container culture, and its naturally tidy habit means little pruning is needed beyond light shaping if desired.
