3 Black Chokeberry Aronia melanocarpa 12in Bare Root Live Plants

Black Chokeberry is a deciduous North American native shrub valued for its glossy green foliage, white spring blossoms, and abundant dark purple-black berries in late summer to early fall. It offers multi-season ornamental interest with brilliant red-orange fall color and attractive fruit that persists into winter, making it a standout in mixed borders, hedgerows, and naturalized landscapes.

The berries are tart and astringent when eaten fresh, making them well suited for jams, jellies, syrups, juices, and baked goods once sweetened. This shrub grows in a rounded, suckering habit and adapts well to wet or dry sites, earning a place in rain gardens, wildlife plantings, and mass landscape borders. It is self-fertile but produces heavier crops when planted in groups.
