3 American Elderberry Live Plants Sambucus canadensis 12 Inch Tall Bare Root

American Elderberry is a native deciduous shrub prized for its clusters of tiny white flowers in spring followed by dark purple-black berries in late summer. Its fast growth, adaptability, and wildlife value make it a rewarding choice for hedgerows, pollinator gardens, and edible landscapes.

The berries are traditionally used in jams, jellies, pies, and syrups, while the flowers can be used in fritters and beverages. Plants grow vigorously in moist, well-drained soil and benefit from cross-pollination when two or more are planted together. Prune in late winter to encourage new growth and abundant fruiting.
