20 Seeds Large Leaf Lupine Lupinus polyphyllus Lindl Native Cottage Garden Wildflower

Large Leaf Lupine is a robust herbaceous perennial known for its tall, spiky flower clusters and distinctive palmate foliage. This native wildflower brings a bold vertical element to cottage gardens and naturalized meadows, offering a graceful, old-fashioned charm that blends effortlessly into mixed borders and wildflower plantings.

Gardeners value Large Leaf Lupine for its ornamental flower spikes in shades of blue, purple, pink, and white, as well as its role in providing nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinating insects. It works well in meadow-style plantings, rain gardens, and informal border displays, and its deep taproot makes it best suited to a permanent position where it can establish undisturbed. For best results, sow seed in cool conditions after scarifying or soaking, as this species benefits from cold stratification.
