150 Seeds Tradescantia bracteata Prairie Spiderwort Native Wildflower

Tradescantia bracteata, commonly known as Prairie Spiderwort, is a native perennial wildflower that forms clumps of grassy, arching foliage topped with vivid three-petaled blooms in shades of blue-violet to purple. Each flower opens in the morning and often closes by afternoon, producing a continuous succession of blooms from late spring into midsummer that brings lively color and texture to borders, meadows, and pollinator-friendly landscapes.

This adaptable native is well suited to prairie plantings, wildflower meadows, cottage gardens, and naturalized areas, where its spreading habit slowly fills in over time. The grassy foliage provides structure near the front or middle of a border, and the nectar-rich flowers draw bees and other pollinating insects through the growing season. Plants tolerate a range of soils and are drought tolerant once established, making them a low-maintenance choice for sunny sites.
