1000 Seeds Black Seeded Simpson Lettuce Heirloom Loose Leaf Garden Vegetable

Black Seeded Simpson is a classic loose leaf lettuce valued for its bright light green, tender leaves and dependable performance in home gardens. This open-pollinated heirloom variety is fast growing and easy to sow, making it a favorite for spring and fall plantings in beds, raised planters, and containers.

The ruffled leaves are mild, crisp, and sweet, ideal for fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps, and garnishes. Plants form loose rosettes rather than tight heads, so leaves can be harvested gradually as cut-and-come-again greens. It grows quickly and performs best in cooler weather, with slow bolting when given consistent moisture and partial shade in warmer conditions.
