100 Seeds Giant Lousewort Pedicularis procera Hardy Perennial Woodland

Giant Lousewort (Pedicularis procera) is a striking perennial wildflower native to western North American mountain meadows and open woodlands. It forms bold clumps of finely divided, fern-like foliage topped by tall spikes of pale yellow, hooded flowers that attract bees and other pollinators to the garden from early to midsummer. Its architectural stature and unusual blooms make it a standout choice for naturalistic plantings, wildflower meadows, and woodland borders.
In the garden, Giant Lousewort works well in informal meadow-style borders, pollinator gardens, and native plant collections where its tall flower spikes add vertical interest. The species favors cool, moist, well-drained soils and is often grown in rock gardens or alongside other mountain wildflowers. It is a hemiparasitic plant that may benefit from growing near grasses or other host plants. Plant in a sheltered spot with consistent moisture for best establishment.
