100 Seeds Bear Grass Bear Lily Xerophyllum tenax Evergreen Perennial Ornamental

Bear Grass (Xerophyllum tenax) is a striking evergreen perennial native to western North America, forming dense clumps of tough, grass-like foliage that arch gracefully from a central base. Its distinctive white flower clusters rise on tall stalks, creating a bold architectural accent in borders, rock gardens, or naturalized plantings.

The sturdy foliage of Bear Grass has long been valued for its durability and is widely used in floral arrangements, cut foliage, and dried crafts. This slow-growing perennial thrives in well-drained soils and tolerates poor, sandy, or rocky conditions, making it a low-maintenance choice for xeriscapes and wildflower meadows. It prefers cool summers and mild, wet winters.
