100 Annual Phlox Seeds Phlox drummondii Wildflower Pollinator Cottage Garden

Annual Phlox (Phlox drummondii) is a cheerful wildflower grown for its clusters of bright, lightly fragrant blooms that carry a soft, nostalgic charm in the summer garden. It is a hardy annual that grows quickly from seed, bringing a vivid wash of color to beds and borders within a single season, and it is a favorite among gardeners who want a low-maintenance, long-blooming flower that pairs well with other meadow-style plantings.
In the garden, annual phlox works beautifully in cottage borders, wildflower patches, cut flower beds, and container plantings. Its compact, branching habit makes it useful for edging and mass planting, while the flowers attract bees and butterflies throughout the growing season. For best results, sow seed directly after the last frost, keep the soil evenly moist until germination, and deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering.
