10 Twinleaf Bare Roots Jeffersonia diphylla Native Woodland Wildflower

Twinleaf is a charming native woodland perennial, prized for its distinctive paired leaflets that resemble butterfly wings and its early spring white blooms that appear alongside the emerging foliage. This slow-growing forest gem, botanically known as Jeffersonia diphylla, forms tidy clumps over time and brings an elegant, understated presence to shaded garden beds and naturalized areas.

In the landscape, twinleaf works beautifully in woodland gardens, shade borders, and native plantings, where its unique foliage and early flowers add seasonal interest. It pairs well with other shade-loving perennials and ephemerals, gradually spreading into graceful colonies under favorable conditions. Grow it in consistently moist, humus-rich soil for best results.
