10 Seeds Woolly Dutchman's Pipevine Aristolochia tomentosa Vine

Woolly Dutchman's Pipevine is a vigorous, deciduous climbing vine grown for its distinctive heart-shaped leaves and unusual pipe-shaped blooms. The foliage is soft and downy, giving the plant a woolly texture that adds a unique, tactile quality to fences, trellises, and arbors. This species is native to the southeastern United States and is admired for its fast growth and dense screening habit.

In the garden, Woolly Dutchman's Pipevine works well as a summer screen on pergolas, porches, and trellises, where its thick foliage provides a lush green backdrop. The curious flowers appear in late spring to summer and are favored by pollinators. Plant it where its vigorous growth can be managed, as it can spread quickly once established. It performs best in a sunny to partly shaded site with consistent moisture.
