10 Seeds Standing Cypress Ipomopsis rubra Red Flower Wildflower

Standing Cypress (Ipomopsis rubra) is a striking biennial wildflower native to the southeastern United States, prized for its tall, slender spikes of bright red tubular flowers that rise above feathery green foliage. Blooming through summer, it brings vertical interest and vivid color to meadow plantings, cottage gardens, and pollinator-friendly landscapes.

The nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, making it an excellent choice for wildlife gardens and naturalized areas. Its airy, fern-like foliage adds fine texture to borders, and the bold flower spikes work well as cut flowers and as a back-of-border accent. Standing Cypress is easy to grow from seed, tolerates heat and drought once established, and self-sows readily in suitable conditions.
