10 Seeds Scarlet Sage Salvia coccinea Red Flower

Scarlet Sage (Salvia coccinea) is a tender perennial flowering plant prized for its bright red blooms and airy, upright habit, making it a favorite for adding vivid color and vertical interest to garden beds, borders, and containers. Its slender, densely packed flower spikes rise above soft green foliage from summer through fall, offering an elegant, naturalistic look that suits cottage, pollinator-friendly, and cutting garden designs.
Scarlet Sage performs best in full sun to part shade, where it produces abundant tubular blooms that attract hummingbirds and butterflies throughout the warm season. It works well in mixed borders, wildflower-style plantings, patio pots, and massed displays, and its stems are also excellent for fresh-cut arrangements. Whether started indoors or sown directly after the last frost, this easy-to-grow annual-in-cool-climates plant delivers reliable color with minimal maintenance.
