10 Seeds Ozark Bluestar Amsonia illustris Native Perennial

Ozark Bluestar (Amsonia illustris) is a native perennial prized for its clusters of pale blue, star-shaped flowers that appear in late spring above upright, willowy stems of glossy green foliage. This hardy, low-maintenance species brings a soft, natural texture to borders, meadow plantings, and pollinator-friendly landscapes, and its neat, shrub-like habit holds up well through the season.
In the garden, Ozark Bluestar works beautifully in perennial borders, cottage-style beds, rain gardens, and native plantings, where its nectar-rich blooms draw bees and other pollinators. Its finely textured foliage forms a rounded clump that turns a warm golden yellow in autumn, extending its seasonal interest. Seeds can be started indoors or sown directly in prepared ground for a naturalized look.
