10 Seeds Delosperma floribundum Purple Ice Plant Hardy Succulent Groundcover

Delosperma floribundum, commonly known as Purple Ice Plant, is a hardy, low-growing succulent that forms a dense mat of fleshy, bright green leaves. From late spring through summer, it becomes covered in a profusion of small, daisy-like, magenta-purple flowers that create a striking carpet of color. This versatile groundcover thrives in sunny, well-drained locations and adds a vibrant, textural appeal to rock gardens, slopes, and container edges.

This plant is excellent for covering dry, sunny areas where other plants struggle, as it tolerates poor, sandy soil and drought once established. Use it as a living mulch for pathways, between stepping stones, or spilling over the edges of pots for a cascading effect. As a hardy perennial, it returns reliably in suitable zones, providing seasonal color and evergreen interest in milder climates.
