10 Seeds Bletilla striata Hardy Garden Orchid Flowers

This hardy garden orchid produces elegant, pink-purple blooms in early summer, adding a graceful touch to borders, containers, or woodland edges. Bletilla striata is a reliable perennial that thrives in partially shaded spots, returning year after year with minimal care, making it a favorite for gardeners seeking orchid beauty without fussy indoor requirements.
Grow these seeds in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, positioning in partial shade to dappled sunlight. Ornamentally, the pleated, sword-like foliage offers texture even outside bloom time, while flowers attract gentle attention in cottage or shade gardens. For culinary use, the pseudobulbs have historic uses, but focus mainly on ornamental appeal; they can naturalize slowly into friendly clumps if left undisturbed.
