1 Live Plant Shellbark Hickory Tree Carya laciniosa Seedling 8 Inch Tall Native Nut Tree

Shellbark hickory is a large, long-lived native shade and nut tree valued for its shaggy bark, bold pinnate foliage, and sweet, thick-shelled nuts. This live seedling stands about 8 inches tall and is ready to establish in a permanent landscape spot. Its sturdy growth and striking form make it a rewarding choice for native plantings, edible landscapes, and wildlife-friendly yards.
A classic North American native, shellbark hickory develops a broad, rounded crown over time and produces some of the largest nuts of any hickory, prized for their rich, sweet flavor. The nuts are enjoyed fresh, baked into pies and confections, and pressed for oil, while the tree itself offers strong ornamental value with golden fall color and rugged, peeling bark. Grow it as a specimen shade tree or among other natives in a mixed planting.
