1 Live Plant Osage Orange Maclura pomifera 1 Year Old Bare Root Tree

This is a live Osage Orange plant, botanically known as Maclura pomifera, offered as a one-year-old bare root tree approximately five inches tall. Osage Orange is a hardy, long-lived deciduous tree recognized for its glossy green foliage, distinctive deeply furrowed bark, and large, textured, greenish-yellow fruit. It develops an attractive natural form and is often planted as a specimen or shade tree in landscapes and for hedgerow and windbreak use on larger properties.
Osage Orange works well as a unique ornamental tree, valued for its dense canopy, thorny branches on some forms, and its striking fruit, which is inedible but frequently used in decorative arrangements. It grows vigorously in full sun and adapts to a range of soils, making it a durable choice for rural settings, wildlife plantings, and low-maintenance landscapes. For a bare root tree, soak the roots briefly before planting and keep the roots moist until it is in the ground; plant in a prepared hole at the same depth it grew previously and water thoroughly after planting.
