1 Live Plant Musa Basjoo Japanese Fiber Banana Cold Hardy Tropical

Musa Basjoo, commonly called the Japanese fiber banana, is a bold herbaceous perennial prized for its fast-growing, arching fronds that bring an instant tropical look to temperate gardens. It forms a sturdy pseudostem and large paddle-shaped leaves, creating a dramatic focal point in beds, borders, and patios, and it is one of the most cold-tolerant bananas available for outdoor landscapes.
Grow this plant in a sunny, sheltered spot with rich, well-drained soil and consistent moisture for the strongest growth. It works beautifully as a specimen plant, a summer screen, or a container centerpiece that can be moved indoors in colder zones. In warm weather it produces plentiful new leaves, and established clumps may send up offsets over time. Where winters are cold, protect the crown with mulch or lift containers.
