1 Live Plant Downy Hawthorn Crataegus mollis Starter Tree 20 Inch Tall

Downy Hawthorn is a North American native deciduous tree known for its ornamental value and ecological appeal. This starter tree, Crataegus mollis, arrives about 20 inches tall and 2 to 3 years old, ready to establish in a garden, hedgerow, or wildlife planting. It offers seasonal interest with spring blossoms, lobed green foliage, and colorful autumn fruit that persists into cooler months.

Grown for its ornamental landscape use, the Downy Hawthorn serves well as a specimen tree, in mixed borders, or as part of a native planting where its dense branching provides structure. It adapts to a range of soils and tolerates varied moisture once established. The fruit is used in jams and preserves by some growers, and the tree is valued for its wildlife-friendly habit. Plant in full sun for best flowering and fruiting, and allow room for a naturally broad, rounded canopy.
