1 Bare Root Northern Spicebush Plant 12 Inch Tall Lindera benzoin 2 Year Old

Northern Spicebush is a deciduous woodland shrub native to eastern North America, prized for its early spring bloom of tiny yellow flowers and its aromatic foliage that releases a pleasant spicy fragrance when crushed. This 2-year-old bare root plant arrives at approximately 12 inches tall, ready to establish in a suitable outdoor setting.

Its dense, rounded habit makes it an excellent choice for native plant gardens, woodland borders, rain gardens, and naturalized areas. The glossy green leaves turn a warm golden-yellow in autumn. Female plants produce bright red berries in late summer when a male plant is nearby for pollination. It works well as an understory shrub, hedgerow component, or specimen planting in moist, shaded to partly shaded locations.
