1 Bare Root American Strawberry Bush Euonymus americanus Native Woodland Shrub

Discover the American Strawberry Bush, also known as Euonymus americanus, a native woodland shrub valued for its airy branching habit, textured green stems, and distinctive autumn fruit capsules that open to reveal bright orange seeds. It brings a natural, understory character to shaded gardens and wildlife-friendly landscapes.
This deciduous shrub works well in native plantings, woodland gardens, and naturalized borders where its loose, informal form and seasonal interest can be appreciated. It grows best in moist, well-drained soil with dappled shade, and the green stems add winter interest after the leaves drop.
