Blooming in spring, it brightens shaded borders, woodland gardens, and naturalized areas with an easygoing, colonizing habit that fills space beautifully over time.
This versatile native works well in rain gardens, pollinator plantings, meadow edges, and shade borders where its early-season flowers draw attention before many other perennials wake up. The semi-evergreen foliage provides groundcover interest through much of the year, and its spreading nature makes it an excellent choice for massing, erosion-prone areas, and wildlife-friendly landscapes.
Species: Packera aurea
Type: Perennial
Plant_Habit: Clumping, spreading groundcover
Sun: Part shade to full shade
Soil: Moist to wet, well-drained, humus-rich
Zones: 3-8
Germination: Cold stratification recommended; surface sow and keep moist
Sowing: Sow indoors or outdoors; do not bury deeply as light aids germination
Spacing: 12-18 inches
Notes: Native wildflower; thrives in consistently moist sites

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0717/4648/6408/files/il_fullxfull.7882908612_gm89_7c71f799-2267-4ebe-8e5f-5048a46d8e78.jpg?v=1791899437
https://www.natesgardensupply.com/products/75-seeds-golden-ragwort-packera-aurea-perennial-native-wildflower
